DC Hand Dance is a contemporary swing-style partner dance performed to up-tempo music. Though it originated in Washington, DC in the 50’s, Hand Dance has continued to evolve as music has changed and this very popular dance is done in clubs throughout the DC-Maryland-Virginia area to Oldies, current R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop and House music. The Bop is a slower, romantic partner dance perfect for those “get close” songs.
